Travel Inspiration: Islita, Costa Rica

I discovered Costa Rica during one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was grieving the loss of my partner when I went to visit my sister’s boyfriend’s home there.

I didn’t know it then, but that trip would change something in me.

Costa Rica was the first place where I felt peace again. The ocean, the mountains, the jungle, the sounds of the birds, and the kindness of the people all made me feel like I could breathe. It felt like home.

When I went back eight months later, people remembered my name. That may sound simple, but to me it meant everything. It reinforced that feeling of home and reminded me how loving and special the people of Costa Rica are.

This photo of Islita is my travel inspiration because it captures so much of what I love — the deep blue ocean, the lush green hills, and the peaceful beauty that surrounds you there.

From my heart, Costa Rica is more than a beautiful place to visit. It is the place that helped me feel peace again. It is where nature, kindness, and beauty come together in a way that feels healing.

Every time I look at this view, I remember why I fell in love with Costa Rica. It reminds me to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the places and people that make us feel at home.
