Planning a Costa Rica Adventure With Friends

This August, some very special friends are coming back to Costa Rica, and I could not be more excited.

I met these friends years ago at Hotel Punta Islita, during the time I was getting ready to build my house. It was during Covid, and the hotel was almost empty — only about 13 people were staying there. Somehow, in that quiet little moment in time, we all found each other. Since then, we have become wonderful friends and have traveled together often.

They love Islita, just like I do, but this trip they wanted to explore more of Costa Rica. So I started planning a little adventure for us.

We will begin with three nights in Las Catalinas, staying in a villa with access to the beach and pool club. I love Las Catalinas because it has such a beautiful European feel. It is walkable, charming, relaxed, and everything feels easy.

From there, we will head to Tamarindo for one night. Tamarindo is the fun, lively party place that everyone seems to love. While we are there, we are doing a bartender and cooking class, which I think will be such a fun and unique experience.

After Tamarindo, we will spend two nights in Papagayo at the Mangrove Hotel. One of the days, we are planning to walk to La Leona Waterfall, which should be such a beautiful Costa Rican adventure.

What I love most about this trip is that it is a mix of everything — beach clubs, villas, great food, fun nightlife, nature, waterfalls, and time with friends who feel like family.

Costa Rica has given me so much peace, beauty, and friendship. This trip feels like another reminder of why this place is so special to me.
